The Rules

 

Recently my friends Rachel, Tricia, and myself made the decision together that we wanted to get healthy and lose some weight. We decided that we did not want to follow a “diet” or give ourselves unrealistic expectations. That would just be setting us up for failure. We want to change the way we think about food so that it becomes second nature to make healthy choices. Since starting, we’ve been able to recruit others onto our path. The rules we chose are non-negotiable.  If you want to follow our plan, you have to follow all the rules. 

FAST FOOD NO MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK (pitas and subs don’t count)

 

DAILY WATER (1/2 your body weight in ounces)

 

DAILY FOOD JOURNAL

 

VEGETABLE WITH LUNCH AND SUPPER (salad, side vegetable, “hidden” in other foods, ETC)

 

NO FRIES WHEN EATING AT A RESTAURANT (unless you want to count it as your fast food for the week)

 

EAT BREAKFAST EVERY DAY AND HAVE AT LEAST 3 MEALS A DAY

 

AT LEAST 30 MINUTES OF EXERCISE A WEEK

 

LIGHT BEER OR HIGHBALLS WITH DIET OR COKE ZERO OR CLUB SODA

 

IF YOU’RE STILL HUNGRY AFTER EATING, WAIT 15 MINUTES BEFORE GOING FOR SECONDS

In addition, we are allowing ourselves one day a month as a “free” day.  This means we can eat whatever we want for one day.  If we can deal with the guilt that is lol  There is always room to add.  For instance, Rachel is going to cut back on pop and have it only every other day.  We’ve been doing it for over a week now and so far so good. My pants already feel looser.
